The terms Theist & Atheist pertain to one's believe or absence of belief, respectively.
The terms Gnostic & Agnostic pertain to one's claim of knowledge of God's existence or the absence of a claim of knowledge of God's existence, respectively.
In other words, a theist is someone who believes in God and a Gnostic is someone who claims they can know (and do know) that God exists. An Atheist is someone who does not believe in God and an Agnostic is someone who does not claim they can know God exists.
Most believers, or Theists, tend to follow that they cannot prove that God exists, but they simply use the evidence around them to deduce that God does exist, albeit a minority of fundamentalists and theologians. This uncertainty is Agnosticism. People who are Theist Agnostics believe that God exists and do not claim they know God exists. If a person claims to know God exists, you can deduce that they are also Theist, or Gnostic Theist.
If a person does not believe in God and and claims they cannot know God does not exist they are an Agnostic Atheist. If a person does not believe in God and claims they know God does not exist they are a Gnostic Atheist. Because it can be assumed that if you don't believe in God they you wouldn't claim tho know God exists, as this would be logically inconsistent, Gnostic Atheist means the polar of Gnostic Theist.
I hope you enjoyed this fresh take on (A)Gnosticism and (A)Theism. I've noticed that politics is kind skewed in the same manner where it presents beliefs on a line rather than an axis, to hide the unwanted variable. I will provide a link here for that post when it is created. Stay tuned!
